A man, for unknown reasons, climbs on the statue known as ‘Eros’ however it’s actually a representation of another Greek god of love Anteros by sculptor Alfred Gilbert 1893 for the Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain. The climber is descending the statue after having perched himself on its wings. The true ascendence is by sculptor Alfred Gilbert for his magnificent sculptural of this Greek god of love, and also, more topical, the demonstrators below campaigning to free the political prisoner Assange who is the journalist publisher that reveals war crimes, which has run him into grave difficulties. The freedom campaigners are standing between free speech and the more Putin type of approach to the Press that is being contemplated by the current British and American governments.
