Tent City is nestled near historic St Paul’s Cathedral built by Sir Christopher Wren, not far from the . Occupy London, are campaigning for various reasons including in protest against Banking sector, speculators, London Stock Exchange, big business corporations practices, and the government’s relationship to these sectors. Displays, placards, banners, posters, conversations and in speeches the protesters promote a variety of ideas on the economic, society, ecology, peace and other issues.
Tent City has a number of creatively improvised amenities, including Tent City University, job centre tent, library both in tent and outdoor, interfaith devotional tent, food tent, First Aide tent, information tent, children's & women's tent, piano tent, outdoor musical performance, discussion groups, talks and more. Tent City attracts interest from members of the public who take in Tent City ethos, one of free expression.
The tented areas straddle land that may be in part the historic St Paul's Churchyard, public land, City of London Corporation controlled land and land of unknown ownership, a legal ambiguity that may play a part in delaying their removal by the authorities.
OccupyLSX London protest encampment next to St Paul’s Cathedral, lasted from the 15th of October 2011 untill Tuesday 28th of February 2012 when Occupy London's Tent City's remaining protesters were evicted by bailiffs and police in the early hours.
