View from a hide, Wilstone reservoir; one of four Victorian canal balancing reservoirs near Tring Hertfordshire, 2002
I came across this reservoir and a hide when walking in the area. A hide is a shed like building dark inside with wide low windows overlooking the lake for observing the water life of wildfowl and positioned to be unnoticed by the birds being observed. I had not come across one of these places before so was pleasantly surprised. The windows were a bit splattered over time with mud which seemed to add a painterly look, in my mind, to the view for some reason.
