Philip Poole (1909 - 1999), in his pen shop 'His Nibs' set at the back of the artists' shop, Cornelissen. Originally, Philip Poole’s nib shop, was located on Drury Lane. Many of the leading newspaper cartoonist, also, writers, fine artists, illustrators, animators, composers and calligraphers patronised ‘His Nibs’. PS: An exhibition about Philip Poole, curated by Emma Stirling-Middleton, is featuring at the Cartoon Museum, 63 Wells Street, London W1, from 19 February 2020 to 24 January 2021. “Dear Mr. Poole” the exhibition includes cartoonists illustrated letters to Mr. Poole. The exhibition also displays a selection of objects from Philip’s personal collection, on loan from the Museum of Writing. The exhibition is online during lockdown.
