Chris Nineham

Chris Nineham, national officer of Stop the War Coalition, introduces Mitra Qayoom from Afghans for Peace, to speak, on his left, at a vigil for the sixteen civilians killed, mainly children with their mothers brutally murdered in their homes by a US soldier in Kandahar Province on Sunday, the day before. Members of the Afghan community in Britain are joined by members of the British public in sympathy, mourning and prayer for the victims families and their loved ones. The campaigners appeal to the US and the British Government to give up its policy of violence and end its irresponsible, long running unsuccessful occupation of Afghanistan, one since 2001.
