Chris Wood / Traffic

Chris Wood (1944 - 1983) musician who played saxophone, flute and keyboards, also concepts man and co-founder of the English rock group TRAFFIC (Island Records). Though at the time of taking this picture I was visiting Noel Redding bass guitarist in the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Noel's other group 'Fat Mattress' in his flat on Fulham Road. Chris Wood and Jim Capaldi, both musicians from "Traffic" popped in together to see Noel Redding. Chris Wood was enigmatic with the diffident bearing of a melancholy poet.
