homage to Clouzot

An outdoor exhibition in photographs a homage to Henri-Georges Clouzot (1907 - 1977) French film director, screenwriter and producer, who hails from Niort where the show is displayed. The exhibition runs from 6th July to 2nd September 2017 in Square Henri-Georges Clouzot, Niort, France

Henri-Georges Clouzot films include:
Quai des Orfèvres (1947)
The Wages of Fear (French: Le salaire de la peur) (1953).
Les Diaboliques (1955).
The Mystery of Picasso (French: Le mystère Picasso) (1956).
The Truth (French: La Vérité) (1960).
and more

PS: It was interesting going to this outdoor exhibition, of photographs about French film maker Henri-Georges Clouzot (1907 - 1977) in his home city, Niort, central west France. Henri-Georges Clouzot made some remarkably strong films. I remember seeing his powerful “The Wages of Fear” screened at the London Film School many years ago when I was a young film student. Clouzot, straight after completing “Wages of Fear” optioned the screenplay rights for Les Diaboliques preventing Alfred Hitchcock from making the film, no matter it helped inspire Hitchcock's “Psycho”. And a young man does not forget Brigitte Bardot in “The Truth” (French: La Vérité).
